"Great is the power of memory that dwells in places." (from Cicero)

Among this group of weapons are iron swords and spearheads, including so-called 'pila,' which were used in the Roman army.

Exceptional finds at the cult site of Col de Flam

In 1848, during the ploughing of a field at Untercoldeflam farm, a rich collection of iron weapons and tools, as well as iron and bronze brooches and jewellery, was uncovered. The finds, dating from the 6th to the 2nd century BC, partly come from cremation graves and are partly associated with a burnt offering site.
