Sestertius with a portrait of a Roman emperor
A bronze Roman coin (sestertius) with a portrait of Gordian III, who was appointed Emperor at the age of 13 and hence called 'the child emperor', was found on the 'Poststeig' path between St. Peter and St. Ulrich. This sporadic find is difficult to interpret; the coin may have got lost or have been deposited as a wayside votive offering.
