"Great is the power of memory that dwells in places." (from Cicero)

Stetteneck Castle ruins

There is hardly anything left of Burg Stetteneck, and its position near St. Jakob's church near Pincan could only be confirmed in 2000 thanks to archaeological excavations. Yet the castle played an important role in the development of the village and new supplies were brought mainly to St. Jakob's to provide for its inhabitants. The Stetteneck family was wiped out at the start of the 14th century for political reasons.

Bronze and iron clasps

The famous Iron Age discovery site at Col de Flam contains a number of weapons and tools as well as various objects for adorning the person, which were used in rituals. Alongside bronze bracelets, rings and a bead, there are numerous fastening clasps for clothing made of bronze and iron. They have been dated back to 400 to 15th century B.C. according to their decorative features and shapes.
