Ustaria da Dëur (today the Hotel Cavallino Bianco)
400 years of history: One of Gröden’s oldest hotels
Today’s Hotel Cavallino Bianco is one of the oldest hotels in the valley, and has been welcoming travellers since the far-back 16th century. The hotel is first mentioned by the name of “Weisses Rössl” in the mid-19th century, when it was purchased by Johann Peter Lardschneider.
After renovation and extension works in 1882, at which time the distinctive gable was added, it achieved Grand Hotel status and went on to become a popular base for alpine mountaineering, tobogganing and skiing. In 1958, the Obletter-Riffeser bought the hotel and transformed it into one of the leading family hotels.
